About Us

The Wharton China Business Forum [WCBF] is the first student-run global business forum with a dedicated focus on China’s economic development. The missions of WCBF since our founding have been to provide participants from Penn and all around the world with a forum for in-depth discussions and crucial insider perspectives on key issues and prospective trends in China. While our focus is China, we also aim to understand China’s role in the global business environment, especially in today’s rapidly changing world.

This year’s conference theme “Recovering From the Crisis: A Look into China’s Future” lays emphasis on maintaining China’s rapid economic ascension and enhancing China’s position in the world economy.  The Capital Markets and Industrialization panels will characterize the advancements and changes in China that resulted from its rise to global economical prominence while the Real Estate panel will directly analyze a looming issue on China’s growth horizon. We are also introducing a new topic on the Growth of Medical and Healthcare Consumerism to highlight the evolvement of a nation’s consumption needs and trends with its economic progression.

Through keynote speeches and panel discussions led by eminent business professionals and academics of China’s most prominent and fastest growing industries, we hope to provide you with a wide variety of perspectives that will leave you with a greater understanding of the dynamic Chinese economy and business environment.

We sincerely hope that you will be able to join us in Philadelphia for this year’s conference.

Sincerely,

Wharton China Business Forum Executive Team

Dean's Message

“The Wharton China Business Society is an important co-curricular student organization that helps create opportunities for Wharton undergraduates to learn more about and become more involved in the dynamic Chinese economy. The society forges links between students, Chinese firms and multinational firms with business interests in China. These relationships ensure a rich learning experience for our students and bring an exceptional pool of student talent to work within the challenging environment of the world's fastest growing national economy. I applaud the motivation, energy and innovative spirit that drive the student members of the Wharton China Business Society in the many programs, conferences and activities they present every year. Their efforts are an invaluable complement to the academic training they receive through their coursework in preparing them for careers of leadership in the global market.”
